Hey everyone, I just recently acquired the domain, http://www.GrandTheftAutoFour.com. Now... such a long domain right? WRONG! Even though this domain may seem wrong, it is still the name of the game coming out in October of 2007. This game is expected to become the top selling video game of all time, especially of 2007. Right now, on this very day, Rockstar Games has released its IN GAME trailer and, well, look for yourself. Nothing less than astonishing:

The game is currently being developed by over 120 different companies all working together to produce something worthy of a completely new number in the series, as GTA: San Andreas, an amazing game, did not snatch the "4th" title. Apparently, Rockstar wanted to save the big number 4 for something big, and folks, this is it.


As Grand Theft Auto Four is going to be big, especially since its just the next installment of the most popular gaming franchise on the Sony Playstations and Xbox (with Halo by its side ), it will be a very popular search engine tag. So, right now, I am working towards getting it on the top 10, and since its the real name, I have a VERY good chance of getting it up there. Buying this domain guarantees all the hits from a GTA4 search!


I soon will be putting this domain up for sale, which currently has a WordPress blog put up. Any opinions on what offers I could be getting?


Note: This domain has absolutely no TM issues. I have done searches, talked to professionals, and they all say that this domain name is totally legal. Besides, GrandTheftAutoThree.com has been up forever making money, and they haven't gotten into any trouble.

Well yes I realize that these scripts usually are not active, but if we consider the circumstances here, where this is the domain for the real name of the game... the game that is already stirring mass anticipation, hey, I am sure its worth a few $x,xxx's!

I think domain could have potential. Why don't you put a site onto it, and make it popular and sell it for the release date.

I recon you could score $XX,XXX if you developed it properly. You have 7 months until release, why don't you spend a few bucks on developing a site, and before you sell it, I think it could be raking in the cash.

But unless you develop it, I just see it as another domain name.

Yeah, I really just entered the web business, so my knowledge base on this matter is very limited. Right now we already have a blog on it, and a forum will be coming soon. I just cant edit any server stuff for another 15 days due to the registration terms when I bought it from someone else. I hate that 60 day stuff Are you interested?

I'd think that if you sold it undeveloped, you'd be looking at a minimum of $1000 US. And I mean very minimum. The value of that domain would probably be best appraised by a professional appraisor. But, as a guess, I'd think you could easily get more than $10,000 without even trying.

Hehe thanks guys, I hope this will work out as planned. I wonder though... no paypal! They would rob 10+%! In 10 days I can start editing the domain and stuff because I bought the domain from someone else and their registrar only allows server changes after a certain amount of days.

It's perfectly legal for him to have the domain, as long as he doesn't claim he is an official source. It is the publishers fault for not registering it.

That might not be completely true. If someone registers a registered tradename after the name was already legally registered, then it might be that the registrar could take the name pretty easily. McDonalds or 711, or one of them mainstream big names did the exact thing. Although, if their legal registered trademark is Grand Theft Auto IV, then you have no worries.
