Free Web Directory Script?

Whats the best FREE Web directory script - Thats OK for Search enginze optimization and can be edited.. Anyone?

I use indexscript. It is not the best but works well. If I started a directory now I would go with freeglobe script.

freeglobe is great. But remeber it is programmed in france and the support forum is mainly french. their is a small section for english, it takes a bit to get the answers. Also the pay module is some european payment service. paypal or a other alternative would have been nice. other than that i am happy with it and it is the directory script of choice for me.

Life is full of compromises.

I also intalled that scipt and saw that it has many advantages. With adequate link popularity increase it could be a storng site with fresh content.

PHPLD is pretty good and the templates are pretty easy to edit. Has a lot of good features.
There was another one I saw on the Hotscripts.com, but I can't recall the name of it. I just remember that it was really simple, clean and easy to edit. The only thing was that the Payment gateway did not work properly.

Same, I can highly recommend PHPLD as well.

PHP Lynx is the best available at the time. It's feature packed and user friendly, and it's default interface is very attractive. The premium version has even more features, and should probably cost in the neighborhood of $25.00.

I agree.
I have phpld and phplynx.
phplnx has better features, though there are more mods for phpld at the moment.

There probably won't be much community support(as far as mods are concerned) for PHP Lynx, the code is encrypted, so the only mods will have to come from the creators of the script. I hope that they release their code to the public at some point. I think it's the one thing that will prevent it from getting really big.
