Has anyone had any success you Hittail.com tool?

I used it for a while last year and it helped me identify a number of areas from the long tail that was generated, which I optimised content for, which in turn has now started to generate traffic, unfortunately I had to stop using it due to an incompatibility with one of their JS functions on my site, they have now fixed that and I have just started to use it again, I was wondering if anyone else has had positive results from using it?

I have also heard hittail but didnt use it until now.. will it work in a subdomain page?

It's a tool that helps you identify promising keywords that may be overlooked or hidden in your long tail. It's basically works on the theory that that all less popular keywords referrals you get, add up to far more hits/traffic than all your main keywords put together do.

The tool uses a sophisticated algorithm to analyse results from your web site in real time and produce possible niche key-phrases you should then optimise for in the way of content.

So here is a really wacky example, you have a web site that sells and distributes soft drinks, your top hits from organic search referrals maybe things like Coca-Cola distributor , Pepsi Wholesaler, Sprite Retailer however in your long-tail you may have people searching with a number of key-phrases that contains something as obscure as 'Phenylalanine' which is an ingredient that appears in most diet/sugar free soft drinks, the tool will identify this, you then provide content on your site in the way of an article about the 'Health Risks of Phenylalanine' for example and then hopefully watch your traffic grow.

It's a useful tool IMHO and free at the moment because it's in Beta, I hope this information helps someone.

No, it's a tool that analyses data, why would you even think it could ban you from Google?

I never heard of such a tool too, but I've been trying to do the same thing by analysing my log statistics. Stat Counter is great in giving lots of useful information.

But having this analysis done by a free tool is great especially for sites with high traffic.

It uses quite a complex algorithm to suggest niche areas you should optimise for it does not simply output low performing keywords, you would have to try it to see what I mean, the other thing it does is give you report of current referrals on your site in real time, a little like 'live stats' but simpler and quicker, it's worth giving it go just for that IMHO.

After checking the site and what's written about it on pcworld., etc. I'm sure it's worth giving it a go.
