website-submit.org is on a distinguished road
Default Ever optimized your site by mistake ?

funny subject - well to me anyway - found out I'm listed 3rd on google for a search!!!!

Thing is, I didn't intend to!!

I've got a site aimed at SEO, mainly making money from advertising, but has sold quite a few SEO services.

Obviously, wanted to get a high listing for SEO related search terms - but checking admin section of my site, found I'd got 12 visits one day for the term "website unranked in google" !!!

Whether this is a sign or not I don't know - like someone saying, give it up - because all that I got the feeling of is if someone searched for website unranked in google, they'd see my page on the result, but then assume my page was unranked..... you see what I mean.

Can't understand how I've got listed for that term.

Strange

Some of the less obvious search terms can provide a great amount of traffic, some of the misspelled links I have posted (without checking!) can still provide great returns. So much so that I now target some irrelevant sounding terms with a view to getting this traffic, fro example, ranked v's unranked etc etc

All I can say is, make sure you add EVERY possibility to your meta. Here's mine for just the xhtml area:

xhtml
html
xthml
htxml
lmtxh

...and so on...
