Can User Disable Javascript in IE

Just wondering if a user using Microsoft Internet Explorer can disable javascript on the pages they are viewing.

I'm not sure at all n my response, but I guess they can disable that. I think javascript codes require a plugin such as flash does.

Yes, they can disable it under scripting options. But most (im sure it'll be 98.98%) IE users are always enable scripting, so you dont have to worry about it

It is easily accesible, and if they really wanted they could change it. But as Reaper-X said, they rarely will.

Thanks for the responses.
I couldn't find where to disable it - in Internet Options there is no mention of javascript anywhere.
The reason I ask is that I have a script that counts and limits the number of characters entered into a textbox. Users sometimes seem to stop entering text in the middle of a sentence or word which seems to indicate the script isn't working for them.

Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Internet -> Custom Level -> its under scripting option (above User Auth near the end)
