Default $400 to spend on advertising

Any suggestions ?

Running a site that is mainly affiliate/advertising at the moment.

Got $400 to spend this month, should this be directed at ppc adwords etc to get people in, or used for long term advertising ?

Would appreciate thoughts and recommendations.

Thanks

Mark

I think you should spread it across 3 places. You should spend a bit on bringing in traffic using adwords. Spend a bit on building permanent backlinks, and a bit on branding. All three are important, and I think that you shouldn't ignore one in favor of another method.

I would agree, get yourself into some quality directories, play the game with PPC and that should help you out for a little bit, but remember to continue link building all the time to get your PR to increase!

I'd recommend Adwords, that usually does the job when you're after targeted traffic. You might also wanna place banners (those attractive banners) across related websites to get your website known.

Adwords would bring in direct traffic but might not generate consistant flow of traffic so getting more stable traffic with the 400$ might be another way to look.

What about spending some of it getting quality articles in your area written so you can submit them to the big article directores, traffic links all in one and once they are up there they will continue to get published if they are quality..

Get your ad on some good sites with dedicated members. Adwords doesn't work well, just wastes your money when people are on the same page as your link.

If you want a "quick fix" traffic, buy adwords. If you want longer term results from you $400 investment, spend it on buying permanent links, you will not get immediate result from permanent links but it will bring you more traffic in the long run.

Another thing for you to consider, is using sites like payperpost and reviewme.com , this way you can pay bloggers to write about you and your site.
