(In my case I would like to be number one for the keyword: Linksmaster

2).Join a few Link exchange programs. I use Linkalizer, LinkMarket and of course Linksmaster (Linksmaster is autometed)

Now, each site will ask you for the "Title" also known as (the anchor text).

This should be the keyword selected in number 1).

3) A signature on your forum replies with your keyword to, and help people on forums to help yourself get ranked for your keyword.

----Dont stop untill you are the First result on google, then move on to the next keyword ----

The above is quite basic and is more to help out beginners!

1 last tip is try not to compete on the toughest keywords, although you will get to the number one position it will take a lot longer and I know that none of you are patient !

Good luck, and see you at the top!
Ok, you seem to be pushing your own product pretty hard here. Can you share some examples of sites that have ranked high using this method? I'd be interested to see what the success rate is....Long term.

You even said your self that a site can get banned if they all of a sudden have 9000 new links.

Thanks for the tip WebGeek182. I was tempted to sign up for a link exchange program to get some traffic to my site, but after reading this, I think I'm going to reconsider.

There are many ways of building quality links that weigh more in the search engines and especially those that are the number #1 players like Google, Yahoo and of course MSN / Live!

The problem most webmasters are facing is the constant request from sites that have no relevancy to the website you’re offering or niche market if you will…

Google has now caught on to these link exchanges as well and frown upon them, as it’s also sort of like black hat SEO!

Some webmasters for years have been buying up domains and then linking them together to try and fool the search engine algorithms and now their getting their hands slapped…I say its about time!

It’s no secret that Google-Bot checks for key relevancy to the niche market the link is residing on… The more common the linking strategy the better return results for both parties…

For example, our blog directory is one common niche ‘BLOGS and many categories are designed to try and fit each users market, whether it is cars, marketing or SEO.

When a user decides to submit their blog to us, it’s in their best interest to choose the appropriate category to ensure their not penalized and get the most from their linking campaign…

After all why swap links with a website that’s about sperm whales, yet your site is about marketing? There’s no benefit to it!

We have 14 sites in very differnt markets, none of them linked to any site that doesn't have or offer the same resource and because of this 7 sites have a pr of 6, and the other 5 are pr 5's except or new project which is a pr 3 but suppose to be moving to a pr 6 hopefully according to iwebtool pagerank perdiction http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_pre...gingfusion.com

Play fair and be rewarded well!

You made some great points here.

For those of you interested in link building strategies for your site, I just posted a new blog entry on linkbait. Enjoy!

Hello WebGeek182

Thank you for your compliments, we been dabbling in SEO for several years and have learned a great deal from others and forum boards just like this one!

It seems webmasters are still looking for shortcuts, but in true nature there are none. It takes time, hard work and a lot of patients..

We advise users to do your homework, study your competitors and their market. Do this process in the end you’re bound to succeed!

We own 14 websites, and out of these 14 sites our 4 lowest websites have a Google Pagerank of 5/10 and they are only 3-4 months OLD, the rest being 6/7/8.

Put the work in, and at the end you’re bound to come out on top!

i vote for exchanging, because it is a fast way of link building and i think the exchanging(almost one way links) is the main issue of building. You can do anythink for growing and increase pr, but todays you must use exchanging.

I offer forums fır this.Do not use 3rd party sites for this.

You seem pretty knowledgeable, and I am not, about what is a quality site and what is a gimmick. Please explain how a site can have a great search engine position but not get the traffic. My site www.newcondohomes.com is about . . .(drum roll), new condos. It places on the first page on google for new condo homes key words out of 10 million sometimes, but I am happy to get 100 visitors in a day. What is my site missing? thanks.

Ah, my sources were right, Link Building is the answer to your door :p

Yeah I would build, and build....and maybe keep building until my site is so well known on the net that no one can go anywhere without seeing my link...that is link building ladies and gentlemen

Just be careful...there is nothing wrong with two sites that naturally link to eachother, but using any kind of automated system is a bad idea. Google can sniff these out pretty quick. I've seen sites with literally 250,000 inbound links and only a page rank of 4 because their links are discounted by Google. It's better to take it slow and do it right - build links naturally.

Link Building is the powerful way to get your website higher up the search engine just like you said creating quality content and getting link exchange. Link exchange is part of the link building strategy which is a practice of exchanging links with other website. Link building and link exchange is both part important in the search engine optimization process.

I can't stress enough how using link exchanges on a large scale can be dangerous for your SEO health. Google is pretty specific about not using link exchanges to "manipulate" search engine rankings.

Read this article on SEOmoz about what happened to some Real Estate web sites when they abused link exchanging.

Also read this from Google Webmaster Guidlines:
Quote:
Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank.
They are cracking down now.

Thank goodness, was almost on the verge of creating a recipocral link page. Somehow as I contemplate on it, I don't feel right as my site is more targeted than general. Having mass recipocral links are not going to help in my relevance business.
