Default Google Unsteady Serps

Hi folks,
My SERPS appear and disappear approx. every five minutes again and again.
Does anybody know what's going on with google at the moment?
Does anybody has the same experience with keywords?
Is Google using a new strategy?
Are they using different data bases at the same time hence double tracked=
direct hit / first place and five minutes later completely out of the index.
I don't understand it as my site was indexed lately January 27th.

Cheers
Joan

Same here. http://www.ipbforums.net is alternating between 890 results and 16,300 results and has been for the past 3 days.

Wish things would hurry up and settle down.

Hi all,

First posting here - have been reading the posts with some interest
for a while though!

Whilst I think there is an update going on at the moment I am slightly
worried at the past few days trends on one of my sites. I run a free
forum and checking daily on yourcache has shown over the last week
that whilst some dataservers are still picking up pages up to 12,000 more
and more dataservers have dropped pages down to 2 ;-(

Now about two weeks ago I added a couple of mods to the forum -
one mod puts the yellow bar at the top of the forum for unregistered
members. Another mod makes links in the postings unavailable again
to unregistered members.

Finally the last change was to strip out the sid from the url when the
various spiders come. However as Google wasn't having problems I
left Google off the list of spiders.

The number of pages has increased though at the datacenters after I
added the above but am worried that I have done something wrong
that's blocking the spider or getting me penalised.

After all that - the big question is do I do anything about it yet or
leave it for another week to see if it settles down? Would you now
strip the sid for Google?

Any help/advice offered would be appreciated!

Thanks

Steve

Try to find out if your website is accessible by Spider bots. Try the spider tool and check if the tool manages to extract your website text. Another thing, Google dislikes significant changes on a website. If you have made large changes such as change of theme or keywords then you might get lower
ranking for awhile before Google starts picking up on your website again.

The best thing I can recommend at the moment is to wait for a while, if Google doesn't start acting right soon then you should stress then

Kenni,

Many thanks for your replay and apologies for the delay in thanking you!

In the end I didn't make any changes and the results returned and increased -
however on 11 of the datacenteres listed at yourcache it's showing 1 or 2
results - the rest show 12,800. This has been the same since the 26 february
on the same 11 datacenters.

Has anyone seen this happen? Or any ideas why it's happening?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

google is migrating to a new infrastructure so you will see different results from different data centers.
