How to market/SEO a web host

Hi there,
Im wondernig if any one can give me some tips on how to market and SEO a web host?

As there is so many hosting companys out there, whats the best way to get good results in the search engines and lots of good traffic.

It is certainly not an easy task, because as you previously said there are many hosting companies exist on the market. About a year ago I thought that the website owners are the targeted customer segment of the hosting providers.

Now I changed my opinion and I think targetting webmesters could be more remunerative. So I think you should promote your site where they are available. Hanging aroun different webmester forums with a talkative avatar will help you to build your brand.

And about your site. I saw that you have gained PR5 which is serves as a basis for the optimization. I think you have 4 main keyphrases at the home page:

cheap web hosting
VPS
Dedicated servers
Domain name registration

I think you should restructure the your site it. I mean that in my opinion you should make independent pages with more content for this subjects, expect your most importan keyphrase. I would optimize the home page for that.

Now, I see some inconsistency in the page structure. At this domain registration related you use for the title text Greenlush Webhosting. i think you should improve it. And using heading tags <h1>..<h6> will help a little to rank higher.

In additon to Bagi's suggestion above, I think you also need time on your site. The longer you are in the business, the easier it become for your pages to rank higher in Google SERPS.
One word of warning about targetting webmasters: they are very very demanding customers when it comes to support, they also tend to run power tools and costantly ask you to install this or that hack or extensions on your server for them. I am not a big fan of webmasters as hosting clients

I can easily imagine that Temi is telling the truth. Telling the truth I have never meet with this site of the hosting business.

I just thought that because in Hungary generally the webmasters manage the hosting space also.

SEO isthe best deal. You have to start with that. But it costs quite expencive.

SEO need not be expensive if you know what you are looking for, plann it carefully and build the righ links. Just avoid buying pooer quality links.

Neither of those statements are necessarily true. Having relevant anchor text on a page that has nothing to do with your site's content gives that page relevance. Plus, it is said, and most likely, that all webpages have PR, and every link that you get can, and should, improve your own rankings.

Since Seo has been mentioned, I would suggest affiliate programs, this may bring customers to the site, not too few, but still. Another way, is to advertize your services to locals.
