Behold new Google Messiah is born

I did some SEO work for a client, apparently I am not good enough so he has got a more advanced SEO guy to take over, I think this is fair enough. One claim that I find interesting however was that "the site is not listed in Google and I have not done any work on it" according to the new guy and the client seem to have fallen for this.
He went on further to say that "no worries, he has rectified this, he has listed the site in Google, got it to appear in SERP and got it PR4 for good measures" all this amazing feat this guy did in one day (1st of February 2007.

Since I could not convince the client that what the guy is claiming is not possible, that the guy is actually claiming credit for my work, I had to agree with the client that okay, maybe the new guy is the Google Messiah the prophets spoke about in the old testaments.

If the new guy uses this forum, I will just like to know him so that I can come and worship at his feet or if there are other search engine messiah who can get sites listed and on page 1 of SERP and page 4 in a day, I have a few thousands within for you to do some work for me.

In Hungary there are some "seo"s who claim that they have contract with google. It is possible that they started a round-the-world tour.

You should be able to prove this is not the case. It would of been listed in January and the PR would of been there also.

Perhaps the issue is one of communicating to your client?

the client sounds like one who has no clue about how things work, and is easily convinced about things he knows little about. You may or may not be able to convince him that it was YOUR work that got good results, not the new guy.

Assuming you know the passwords of the site i would rip the code to apart and change all of his passwords.
Why don't you hunt the other seo guy down and smack his head in.
What's his name and where does he live??
Some of these ass holes really annoy me.

On a more serious note: Learn from your mistake. Try and come up with a better strategy to deal with a problem like this if it ever re-occurrs.

This is what i do with seo contracts to avoid this. I put in a stipulation in the contract that if they cancel with me they have to return the onpage to the pre-seo condition for 18 months, and i take before and after snapshots and back up files. this will give time for articles to drop and their serps to drop. onpage can cause a 350 position loss within a week or so. I also give them the option to pay the onpage fee of $1,800.00 and keep the onpage.

I did this because i ran into the same problem a few times.

temi, seriously, if your client doesn't even know anything about SEO, you should have explained to him beforehand that it will take time to see any results. You should also explain to him about white hat and black hat SEO and what the could happen to him in the near future.

usualy pagerank not jump frm 0 to 4 on usual.
secondly, pagerank was updated early january 2007. and february, there might be some mistake here. or he really did somehting
