I got hacked on my old MSN so i made a new account!

Is hacking alrite or illegal?

And is there any way people can hack except changing password?

Hacking is illegal, obviously. it's meddling with people's privacy and with an official software for malicious purposes.
There are many ways of hacking, some say. I personally never heard of hacking an MSN account unless it was the case in which the one who got hacked used another computer, or wasn't careful enough as to protect his private details (password, safety question, etc.)
But others say there are back doors and stuff. I find that hard to believe..

Hacking is perfectly legal, and is a much misunderstood concept. Hacking was originally for the use of finding out security loop holes, and weaknesses for government websites. But all out of nowhere people started to use it for use of malicious defacing of websites, I believe it came from government hackers getting revenge for losing their job or something.

Hacking is legal as long as you have a persons permission, believe me it happens, and I am going to get it done to my website to find out how to make it more secure. It only become illegal once someone is doing it for malicious purposes or without permission.

I don't know how your MSN account got hacked although there are many ways in which it could happen;

• Spyware could of stole information/cookies from your computer
• You could of accidentally selected the option to save your details on a public computer
• Someone may of purposely stolen your password while you where typing it in
• etc...etc...etc...

Here are some ways to prevent this happening again;

• Only install software/programs from a secure known source
• Never open large e-mail attachments
• Do not download anything from sources you are unsure about
• Never share information with anyone who asks for it, MSN officials/staff will not even ask for these
• If someone adds you on MSN and you don't know them, think twice before accepting
• Delete cookies and clear your browser cache on a regular basis

I know some of these sound obvious, but these are the most common means of conception into stealing valuable details from a person's computer. Hope this helped and gave you some answers to your questions.
