Default Calendar questions

I have a calendar I just put on my site about 2 monhts ago. Its PHP I think. Where you mouse over an item and a little window pops up describing the event or you can click on the event and read it normally.
The questions are, When I do the site map maker thig (I use a free one and get 1000 pages indexed) I found that the calendar is taking all the space because it seems that each entry is a seperate page. I don't like this. Also when I worte out each calendar entry last year as normal HTML stuff it was indexed by searches. I haven't seen any of my entries indexed from the new calendar.
The new calendar looks much better than the old calendar but I'm thinking on returning to that. The thing I wanted was to be able to add events when I was not at my own computer and for others to add evets.
Does anyone know how I can do all I want without going back to the old ugly way?
Ths is the first of many questions

I agree, the new calendar looks better. I created a sitemap for you with this java based sitemap generator. It looks good for first sight.

If you would hide some content from indexing you may use meta noindex meta tag, or robots.txt.

Thanks for the site map. When I return to my computer I'l upload it. I'm away from home right now.
The problem is that I want the calender stuff to be indexed. I get many hits from my old calendar.
I did do a no robots for the picture albums I made with JAlbum. I let the main thumbnail page be indexed but not the slides page as it is duplicate context. The calendar things get me hits. I was trying not to upload anything but it seems that I have to do it.
I can't open the zip file now. I will in a few days. How many pages did it ndex? I ad new things to the site all the time so I try to do a new map at least every 2 weeks.
Can you tell me what is ping? I saw it in that site map program?

As I remember much more than 1000 pages were index, but it took a long time so I can't remember clearly. If you configure an ftp connect in the sitemap generator it will be able to upload that to the webserver. Pinging give a sign to the google to recrawl the sitemap.

I tried to find any non javascript calendar, but I din't find any. If the earlier html calendar brought you higher traffic than I suggest to use that.

I have a ror site map, a html one and the one tht google likes. Is it good to cover all angles with multi site maps or only have 1?
When I make a new site map I go to Google and tell them to re index the site. Is that pinging?

Yes, if you are in your webmester tools account and you resubmit the sitemap that is a kind of ping. I think you should use only 1 sitemap.

So if I use only 1 site map which is best to use? ROR, HTML, XML.
I was just looking at my files on my server. All my (whatever those type of files are with the page with a little blue looking world on them they have the ending xml), All those are in mu public_html (or www) file. I see that there are 2 (atom and rss) in the / part of my site files. They seemed to have moved on their own. Does one put them back or is this where these type of files are supposed to be?
Too many questions that I do not know how to word...sorry...
But I am uploading the site map now.

I think the main benefit of submitting sitemaps for search engines is getting more visibility. Best way to get your sites regularly crawled, and well indexed is getting backlinks.

I usually use a html page as a part of my site in order to show a sitmap for my visitors, and I store an xml sitmap for the search engines. I don't know the ror extension. I think you shouldn't worry about the feeds, google loves them, and will recognise easy while crawling.
