Default Paying $30 if some1 can help with bground color

Hi, I need someone to help me out, i cant get the back ground color to go all the way to the border... Can someone help me out. see an example of it at http://www.aussiepages.com.au/results.php?CID=40 (the top 3 with images. starting with TEST TEST)

If i cant use the border with the back ground I dont mind removing it as long as i can still have the back ground the same style as the border, meaning with curved edges....

please contact me at support@aussiepages.com.au, pm, or reply here.

Payment will be done via paypal.

thanks everyone
ive got this job on another forum, i will keep you posted when i find someone

<table bgcolor="#ffcccc" seems to go to the edge of that table -- which border do you want it to extend to? Completely fill inside the orange lines?

These images need to be given the background color #ffcccc

That will take care of the corners for you. The background color can't go up to the border because the border is made up of images. So take those images, along with the images called bg1.gif, bg2.gif, bg3.gif, and bg4.gif, and change the background colors of them to #ffcccc. If you need somebody to do it for you, I'd be glad to do it for $10.00US.

You will have to make some small changes to your style.css document. Where it calls for c1.gif, c2.gif, etc....You will need to change it to c1.png, c2.png, etc.

The same thing for bg1, bg2, etc.....That way, the I can make the background transparent and it won't matter where you use it at, it will look right either way.

Actually, I made the changes to your style.css file, you just need to upload it to your server, along with the 8 images.

Yep, you just need to upload the images to your images directory, and the styles.css to the css directory. I just sent a paypal money request to that email, I'll go send the files now.

You know I did all this for you in my initial PM (which I also emailed) to you last night...

For your information, the current method you are using:
1. Doesn't work in Firefox.
2. Has messy HTML (nesting a table within a table unnecessarily).
3. The GIF images could be significantly reduced in size.

The version I sent you on the other hand, does work, and I took the time to make sure it was cross browser compatible. There was also no need to edit the styles sheet either.

The reason that I edited the style sheet is because the background images were in gif format. Gif format only allows for one alpha channel, which looks sloppy and choppy. I created new images that use the png format which allows up to 8 alpha channels. So unless the css file was altered to use the png's for the background images, it wouldn't have worked.

I am using firefox, and it is fixed the way he asked for it to be fixed, it looks fine to me.

I think perhaps you did a bit too much, when someone asks for help, you'd be better off just fixing what's necessary as opposed to trying to completely redo the entire page. Which in this case would have been useless considering it is a php file, so changing the nesting of the tables wouldn't be effective unless you did it in the php(which you don't have access to). The real problem was that the background color was applied to the wrong nested table, it needed to be in the table one level up. It really was a simple fix, and had you just stuck to the simple fix, you wouldn't have wasted your time.

I don't think that he asked for his page to be evaluated or judged, he just needed a problem solved. I agree that nesting tables, or even using tables for layout to begin with isn't the correct way of doing things, but for him to get that problem fixed would cost hundreds of hours and a lot of money. Not something that most people will jump on for $30.00. The page works fine, and that's ultimately all that matters.

Yes, but fixing his PHP templates would probably be better in the long run (and not a hard task either). I know 2 mainstream browsers in which the page layout breaks completely because of the page's poor HTML coding. Anyway, I've spent enough time on this. I did at least expect a simple 'thank you' via PM or email, as I did spend some time on this. It's merely good manners, that's all.
