how long does it take before you get a page rank?

when you have a new site and then submit to search engines and get back links how long does it take before you get a page rank?

You will get PR when google next updates its pagerank which going by http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/pa...date-list.html is around April sometime.

As it says though PR is updating continuesly.

I have a site that I didn't promote at all, I got it up and running in the beginning of December. It gained a PR3 without having any links. So it's possible in my opinion to gain PR rather quickly.

thanks i used iwebtool the other day and put in my url of my new site and it said predicted page rank 4 but today it says cannot predict

Yes, there's always hope. I would just suggest that you continue building back links as often as you can. You might even consider having an editorial review written on someones relevant blog with a link back to your site using your targetted keywords as anchor text. You could also write articles and submit them to sites like digg to help promote your site.

have you created a sitemap and uploaded it to google? I done that an my PR on one site went from PR0 to PR3.

Goggle prefers .txt or .xml sitemaps

I have both on my google account and I update them everytime I make a change on my websites.

The PageRank doesn't update continuously, the ranking on the search results do.

my site(personal blog) was run on november and without much effort and little backlink..i never put any hope toward pr for this blog since i don't care much on PR, but lucky i get pr2 for the past update...

most blogs get a higher rating because being blogs they should be changing all the time - search engines like pages that change all the time.

I have a strange story about the PR.
In the middle of the last summer I launched my site. In october the google updated 22 incoming links, but didn't export any PR for my index page only the inner pages gained some lower value: 2.

In the first wave of this update in january I gained 53 exported links, but still no updated PR. Luckily in the second wave, about a week ago I recognised the movement of the green bar. It finally gained PR4, and almost every inner pages got the same.
