Hi there,

I use AWstats in cPanel 10 as I think it is the most resouceful for me as a webmaster to track what attracting people more. Although I have seen some new ones in this post so I will check them out, thanks to the people who posted them.

Regards,
Kieran Taylor.

That's pretty much exactly what I do. I also really like that my AdWords account is also integrated with Analytics now. I just wish they would tie AdSense and AdWords together. That would be amazing.

I personally use and recommend Sitemeter. Site Meter is a free, fast, and easy way to add a web counter to your web page and gather statistics. Not only does it display the number of visitors to your web site, it also keeps statistics on the number of visits each hour and each day. And here's some of thier features:

Its FREE. ( I pay a nominal subscription fee monthly for the counters to be 'invisible')

Statistics are real-time (with refresh link).

You can optionally receive weekly (or daily) email reports on your site's traffic.

Click ontracker image to view your stats.

You can use same html code for each page of a site you want tracked.

Without changing your code, you can:

Change meter style (several styles, with or without a counter).
Select the privacy level of your stats (public, private, or very private).
Select to not count visits from your IP address.
Change starting count and/or date for displayed counter.
Reset your counter & stats.
Choose which day(s) of week to receive stats by email, or none.
Join their affiliate program for 50% profit.

Images / Logo Button: Choose from several styles.
or Counter - Choose from several styles & fonts. (for less than $7 a month your code is invisible)

HTML Code

There are two versions of the Site Meter HTML available for your site. One uses JavaScript and the other doesn't. The JavaScript Site Meter allows you to track the original URL from which your your visitors came before linking to your site and also lets you see your visitor's time zone.

General:

Summary - Visits & Page views (total, average per day, average length of visit; # last hour, today, & last week).

Who's on? - Current visitor's domain, last page view, # page views, & visit length.

Traffic Prediction - predicted # visits & page views per hour, day, week, and month.

Recent Visitors: (last 100 for each category - 5 html pages each):
By details - domain, last page view, # page views, & visit length.
By referrals - last 100 referring URLs.
By entry pages.
By exit pages.

Visits:
Day, Week, Month, & Year - Graphs.

Visits & Page Views:
Day, Week, Month, & Year - Graphs.

Ranking: (percentage)
Of entry pages.
Of exit pages.

Page views per visit:
Day, & Month - average page views per visitor in bar graph.

Durations:
Month - duration of visits and page views graph.

Site Tracking:
Time zones - graph of visitors' time zones.
Languages - pie chart of visitors' language.
OS (Platform) - pie chart of operating system.
Domain - pie chart of visitors' domain.
Organization - pie chart - from .com, .net, IP address, etc.

Web Browsers (& supported technologies - pie charts):
Browser share - browser version
Javascript - Javascript versions supported
DHTML - supported or not
PNG graphics - supported or not
Style sheets - supported or not

In my personal opinion SiteMeter is better, than Google Analytics. Because:

1) It is straightforward and doesn't have a lot of unneeded, fancy, purely E-commerce related reports

2) Site Meter's visitor paths provides the detailed view on the path (and referer) of the every single visitor - A feature, that I failed to find in Analytics.

Site Meter, to put it simply, helps webmasters, bloggers and marketers understand the traffic on their sites. We rely on Site Meter daily to see who, when, and where visitors have been on our site.

Peace,

Lilly

I use google analytics and I absolutely love it, it shows maps, traffic ranks, in-depth reports and all kinds of cool stuff like that.

I've used HitsLink for some time (hitslink.com) and I vote for these stats. It was clear and easy to use it, but that's just from my point of view.

Awstats from CPanel, but I also install AXS on many sites, especially if I want to give public access to the stats. I prefer to have everything on my own server, rather than hosted elsewhere.
