 |  Just bought a small directory site... now what? Hey all, I just bought a small directory site and now I need to get some entries in it. My questions: 1) Why do directories appeal to people, 2) Could I charge like $4 for a permanent link, and 3) What's the point  I want to learn about directories, which is why I bought one. Please englighten me :rolleyes: Thanks, -Matt

|  Re: Just bought a small directory site... now what? 1: they only appeal to webmasters becuase they can get a oneway backlink 2: i wouldnt do it.. unless your site is very popular and all directory pages have high pagerank, same thing goes with reciprocal only directories... who the hell would want to link to a directory?? i would go with free submission and a featured listing , find a good price a $2 feature listing may get 5 submissions a day which is $10 a day.. a $5 may only get 1 per day which wuld only make you $5.. 3: to make everyone money! just my opinions...

  | Re: Just bought a small directory site... now what? The main questions are whether your directory is SEO friendly, how many backlinks you have, the traffic load, Page Rank (For those obsesive webmasters), etc. What is the URl of your directory if you don't mind sharing

| Re: Just bought a small directory site... now what? Looks like the turnkey directory script. First you need a new design and change the prices to $US dollars. Then promote, get traffic and PR going.. Hopefully you can make some $$ |

| Re: Just bought a small directory site... now what? Run some freebie offers for a few months if you can to get some movement on the site. Categories with a load of 0's next to them look pretty unappealing. |
