Avatar promotions is more for brand recognition promotion than it is traffic building. I think price depends on the activity of the person displaying the avatar, and how many posts they have. For instance, a person who has 2000 posts and averages 10 posts per day would probably be about $10.00 per month for avatar space, where as a person with only 500 posts and averages 5 posts per day might only get $3-4. I think the biggest cost factor of those two is the average posts per day.
