I have tried them. You will get lots of hits but it is not very usefull. They more or less put your site in a pop up, so most people just close it and move on. Buildling up your web presence and search engine position will help you out much more in the long run.

With good content, and then traffic, the test is getting visitors to stay and then conversion to sales. I've seen ridiculous ads for broadcast listings in 1,000,000 directories for $19.95 which is a questionable method for backlinks. The resulting traffic would be useless if your content doesn't match a need or convert to sales.

In my opinion if it looks like exaggerated promises then it's probably too good to be true, so buyer beware.

Cheers,

Jim

I've tried one of these before. It did not really seem to improve my traffic or google rank with backlinks.

Ideally, natural traffic from search engines is the best, but I do understand why some people need to buy traffic in competitive web topics.

I've heard of horror stories where traffic that was purchased actually came from scraper and useless sites. Who knows, by web robots or something. People can do a lot of things nowadays.

My father actually did one of these cheap things for a few sites. We got great hits & great Adsense earnings. However it all suddenly fell, after our time was over. Basically the traffic remained the same after our period was over as it was prior to starting, which IMO proves that it is afke traffic.

But did you earn more from Adsense than spend on traffic?

Yes, then his account got banned by Google. I think it was a clicker program.

If it is to good to be true, then it is.

I don't think clicks contribute to page rank ... they do contribute to Alexa ranking though.

I have tried many different sites with those offers and will never do it again. After useing like 4 of them and not getting convertions and no one leaves the front page you begin to realize the obvious signs.

Most of these sites use popups and I myself never pay attention to those. Most likely neither does any one else. Popunders don't have any effect because they only show up after you close your browser. By that time you have no interest in in them because your trying to go offline. Also I have yet to find a site that offers massive traffic for cheap packages where they will tell you where you get the traffic from.

I have also seen sites that when a site redirects a user to your site it actually sends them to a page on the website you bought the traffic from first. So really when you buy one of their pakages from them your helping promot them too.
