Hi guys.this is the third site i uploaded to the web so far but the first with a forum in it.I used phpbb which came as a bonus from my hosting service.I dont know if iam exaggerating but the security in this forum is pretty lame.I checked all the configuration possible at the administration panel but that doesnt stop the spam.i was told about mods but that seem to complicate things plus i dont know which one of them to install.One other thing is that i dont know how to remove some spam registration from the memberslist.the forum is located in www.betonlytennis.com. Any help will be greatly appreciated cause iam so close to remove the damn thing alltogether .

Check the PHPBB forum for mods. Most SPAM on forums are link spam. PHPBB has a lot of mods to stop spam.

You have it setup to where a guest can post. That would be the first thing i would change.


Here is a turning image mod that looks like it would be pretty easy to install.

This will help you a lot if you wish to allow posts from guests

If you do decide to remove it all together, try SMF out, it's much better than PHPBB, plus it's much more secure. Not to mention, it's free.
