PageRank Help

My predicted page rank keeps showing as a 4, but my actual page rank is a 0. It has been like that for a while and I know I should at least have some page rank. Any ideas as to why I am stuck with a PR of 0?

Your Pagerank updates when Google updates it's server. The update was supposed to be in january 2006 as I per SEO professionals. Even I'm waiting for the update.

Well actually there is no such thing as a PR update anymore. It is a continuous update now.

I think you may have misunderstood the report that SEO Company issues. Page ranking (or SERP), that is to say what page your website appears on for a given keyword is constantly updated. I think people who have contributed to this thread are more interested in the PR shown on the Google toolbar, this is only updated periodically. If you look more closely at the same report, you will see that the toolbar PR has not been updated for 89 days, according to SEO Company it should be updated on the 25th Jan.

Yes, PR is updated continuously. You can't see it in the Google toolbar though since Google only updates that thing periodically as what the seo company called the "Toolbar PR export". This occurs around every 3 months and this is the only time we are able to see the PR fruits of our backlinks labor.

Update should be later this month or early February.

As for future pagerank tools, they are not accurate whatsoever. Only google knows what your pagerank will be.

When you're talking about your *actual* pr, i'm assuming you're saying the pr that shows in the google toolbar? if so, then (just what bbott has said) update is somewhere between the last days of this month or next month. You'll have to wait for that to find out what your PR would be.

And as you said, it's just *predicted* PR... we mere mortals can't say for certain what Google decides to give us and only after updates (or exports or whatever) do we find out.

Most PR prediction tools use a 'guesstimate' of the algorithm which is based on past results and as such cannot predict what is actually going happen.

TBH though PR is just a nicety now, it holds very little value and I just concentrate on visitors. There are lots of extremely high PR sites that do not rank well in Googles SERP's for their keywords..

You're right, it still holds weight with a lot of webmasters though when it comes to exchanging links.

because it it predicting what your PR will be when google next updates the tool bar..which will be sometime in the next 2 weeks (MOST LIKELY). This update happens, on average, every 3 months. Just wait a tiny bit longer
