Everyone would prefer free hosting but there's no such thing as a good free host (well that's mostly true but there will be ads).

Best free host ive seen is http://100webspace.com and best paid host for small budgets is http://justthathost.com

Netfirms.com offers free reliable hosting for simple websites such as one pagers. We do have one of ours over there. A person has to of course have a domain name already and then use their site for the hosting, they do tend to end up with a long url link for their simple site. Netfirms then will undoubtedly put up some Google Ad Sense words to help earn revenue for allowing you to use their services.

$0.60 per month? They would only get like...20 cents after fees are taken out...might as well be free. Granted, YOU still have to pay $0.60, but they're only getting $0.20 out of it...strange

I have free hosting only because I worked out a deal with the owner. I had a bad experience with a host a little while back and so have tried to steer away from paid hosting. The only time I am ever going to get paid hosting is when I can afford a dedicated server at servermatrix of theplanet

If your site is important, you should not compromise hosting.

Hosting should be seen as an investment not an expense. Meaning if you spend say $10/month extra on good, fast, reliable hosting, your site will bring more than $10/month in rewards back.

Well.. IMO its not with free or paid hosting... i had experienced with paid hosting thinking for a better service.. But headache for couple of months.. then I switched with free hosting.. and my site still kicking doin fine.. 99% uptime..

I suggest... Go for the better service not for cheaper price.

it all depends on what the host has to offer. for me, if you choose a paid host, there might be more uptime and more dedicated since they are earning some money. if it's a free host, they probably won't care as much as they should. i know i'm being really stereotype so don't take my opinion. just wanted to tell you what i think about it

Our of curiosity, what free hosting did you use, markkk? I really want to know what you've used considering it's 99% uptime.
