Red face Is Page Rank related to Search Engine Position?

Is PR (mine is only 2, unfortunately) related to Search Engine Position? I'm still waiting for Google to "notice me" for my main keywords, "Christian art", I don't know if my keywords are dense enough, or maybe too dense, but am just wondering if I had gotten a higher PR (I was predicted to get a 4PR), if Google would have started indexing me and having me show up on the first few pages for Christian art. I am actually, as of today, number 7 (on page 1) for Framed Christian art, and not even in the top 100 for Christian art. I do use Google adwords for Christian art, but it is very expensive, and I need to know how to get organically indexed for my main keywords, any help is greatly appreciated!

PR is the very least of your worries.
The important things about backlinks are the content on the page linking to you and the anchor text used.
get backlinks with the anchor text "christian art" on either christian sites or art sites. That will do you far more good than pagerank.

PR is important (otherwise why would it exist?) and is used as a
small part of Google's ranking algorithm. It is more a measure of
the authority of your site though, so making your site more of an
authority will raise your PR.

A good site with good links and good content comes first. PR
comes second, as a result of the first. If you build a great site,
you'll get great PR.

No PR and SE position are not interrelated. PR totally depends on the number of backlinks. SE position strategy differ freom SE to SE. If you want to check your keyword density then you can use the tool http://www.tradeweblinks.com/free-se...ty-checker.php

I think PR has a stressed importance when your domain is brand new, because of the mythical sandbox filter. Its hinder affect can be decreased by getting links from trusted sites. I thing this filter can be eliminated with a critical mass of page rank.

Hi there,

PR is an indication from Google of how your backlinks have affected your website, if you have strong, dense backlinks, with their own good PR, you will receive PR in return.

Search Engine keyword positioning is totally different. Just do what stOx said and try and get link exchanges from websites with similar schemes, and use the anchor text "christian art".

Remember there are plenty of other search engines, just because Google doesn't put you in the number 1 position, doesn't mean traffic isn't coming in from else where. Always scan and read thoroughly through your website stats, and see where you can improve. Also the iWEBTOOL SEO Checklist is a great help.

Regards,
Kieran Taylor.
