Add url is one way link and exchange link is two way linking. Both links counts. Two way link is important for having good pr while one way link is important for traffic.

Spend your time getting one-way links from PR6 sites. If you have to write articles for them, or do submissions, etc. do that. If you have to pay $10-25/mo. do that. Don't exchange links. They subtract from each other, and cancel out, a waste of time and money.

If you can get a one-way link from a PR7 or PR8 site (like some of the free press release sites), it's worth a week's work to get it done. Work on that. You'll be glad you did.

They recommend you use about 2-7% of your main keywords in your site, ESPECIALLY if your domain name has the keyword in the title..

Your domain name is "thejoyoftraveling, right there it tells google your site is about traveling... no need to over-use the word "travel" in your site, use synonyms such as journey, trips, locations, destinations, ect as 2nd keywords, these do not need to be listed in your meta-keywords, but they do raise your pages content and will definitely put a new view on your site from google. Content is king and variation is the name of the game.

Lookup the word travel in the article finder they give you for free... Then take bits and pieces of the articles you find and turn them into your own content, rewrite them in your own words... This is bound to have a positive effect on your google searching! Just don't copy articles word for word, as google looks down on "copies" - think of it like this... when you make a copy of a copy, the first is always better looking... same effect online, it looks bad to search engines and google is no exception, they are the foundation these days and if you aren't listed with them, then you might as well not be listed.

Another way to get your site content rich is to look up competitors sites and see what they use for content. I hope this helps a bit.

You could use the word "Travel" and it would cost you a measly $30 to have a PR7 and not 1, but 3 - PR6 pages linked directly to your site for a year.. I use this service like it's going out of style, links from PR6 and above is great for your own page rank!

is a page rank 5, you can buy one way links from them and many other "free link exchanges" some are cheaper than others, but do not take the free links, as they only count toward the paid members sites... reciprocal linking is ok, but one way links are so much better. If you are selling something on your website, then you need one way links, as for using the site for adsense, personally, I could care less for adsense as the PPC is really bad unless you find the "secret keywords" that pay $5-$10 a click that I have read about so many times, but noone will reveal them unless you pay $30-$40 for them to tell you... and then again, they will probably come unclean and leave you stranded like a bad hairdoo...

I agree with both of you. It's dishonest when they don't tell you that up front. It's a waste of time.

On this topic, link exchanges give you much less link juice than a one-way link. Search engines reduce the value for sites that link to each other. This is publicly available info. Spend your time getting other quality sites to link to you. If you need help with this, I've put together some linkbuilding resources to help you out.
