![]() | Hi everyone, It looks like I might be at a PR of 2 according to the iWEBTOOL tools, although my predicted PR says 4. The Google toolbar still shows a 0, but another tool I checked has my site as a 2. I am feeling disappointed and discouraged now, like all of my hard work has only gotten me a 2... It seems like all of my Linksmanager links, many of which have PRs of 3, 4, 5, and some 6, only count as 1 backlink from Google. Is this considered a link farm? Would I be better to just put all of my links on my own page, and forget about Linksmanager? Also, since I have a blog, and participate in blogs, I thought this would help my backlinks, but according to the iWEBTOOL tools, many of these blogs have a 0 PR, so is this hurting me? Any help will be greatly appreciated, since I don't want to continue making mistakes, and want to have the highest PR possible. Thanks so much in advance for any help, have a great day ![]() Patricia http://www.lordsart.com http://www.bizimama.com

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Patricia, i have almost the same problem. Predicted PR 5, updated PR 0. Don't worry about it. PR is not so important but the rankings. According to my opinion writing and commenting blogs have a lot of advantages, because it may improve your knowledge about many subjects and also rong some traffic to your sites. Don't be sad just, continue the work you have started. Your site won't be judged by the google, but by the visitors. ![]()

![]() | I also use linksmanager and I see pr has changed on my links pages. I have also seen my links pages moved to supplemental results. I have been following other forums and it seems that this is happening to links pages regardless of what link management software you use. we link for traffic and branding our client's sites.. we dont link for SEO. I think if you forget about PR and just focus on linking for the traffic that this will all work itself out in the long run. I dont see linksmanager as a linkfarm.. its just a tool to manage link exchange with editorial control. the trick is to not publish a linkfarm with any software. a linkfarm can be defined as a collection of links that have no relevance to the site that serves them. keep your links relevant and well organized and you should be fine. The search engines are having to apply changes to how they look at reciprocal linkins because there are so many junk services that force you to link to other sites without editor control. As long as you use an editor based software such as linksmanager, I think you will be fine. Last edited 01-11-2007 at 12:39 AM. Reason: forgot something |

![]() ![]() | I have had the same experience at first it predicted PR4 than it said PR1 now it moves between 3 and 4. I have noticed that when I change something really big on my site the prediction goes down a lot. Also it is a good idea to have the meta tags properly structured on Your site I.E. the description and keywords match your sites topic. And the best is to have some articles on Your site. I have experimented with removing the articles from my front page and putting an article on the picture. My PR prediction went down almost instantly. Articles should be as well relevant to Your site and should contain many of the keywords that people use to search for the sites like Yours. It isn't very important to have the articles spelling perfect. Have some mistakes in words where people do common miss spelling when they search. And do not forgot to put keywords in the !<alt>! tags of every image. It also helps a lot to have Your site easily readable by search engines. Check the metatag of my home page. To see what I tell the search engines. After I did it that way Googles webmaster tools indexed my site really well and my PR prediction went up. Also find directories and sites that are specific to Your topic and link to them. If You would like I can help You find many directories related to Your site. Free for You of course. I can also find out what are the best keywords for Your site to use (meaning: what are the words people use the most when they look for your type of site.) BTW PR prediction does not really mean that that is what is going to happen. Good luck. |

![]() | Hi pbrown, if you need link exchange services use Los Optimizadores. the links come from different domains and IPs and you can check it by using the links command in Google or any other SE. Quote:

![]() | Besides PR, (The Iwebtool isnt always accurate) and Google only indexes around 0.1% of the backlinks to your site, so don't worry about that! just join a link exchange program and you will see your PR fly!

I'm going to have to diagree with you eprosumer...link exchange programs don't hold the value they used to. You want to focus most of your effort on getting one-way links into your site. There are a few occasions where it is good to link out to an authority site, or reciprocate with a trusted partner. I would avoid automated programs at all costs, as they WILL hurt your site's rankings or get you banned. Not a good long-term plan. Google and friends have new methods of detection.

![]() | It might be worth, rather than focusing on PR, to focus on building quality links. I'd be curious to hear from people with popular, well-trafficked websites -- how much of your traffic actually comes from searches? How much from links? Josh vacognition.wjh.harvard.edu |
