Courious PR8 link for sale

I am looking for a good PR8 link to buy, I look in iweeb tool link market, I found this: http://www.iwebtool.com/link_market/view/1097/ .
I could be wrong but the PR8 on the site he wants to sell looks VERY dodgy, second openion on this?

It's not that bad actually, the price is good, I guess I would give it a try.

I agree, it's not even indexed by google, I don't see how it could have any PR at all without first being indexed. I checked with iwebtools pr checker tool, and it shows that the PR is real. But there are only 22 links to the home page in Yahoo, and 11 in MSN, none in Google. The name was registered in 2004, so it's not a new name. There are 2 indications of CES meanings on the site. One is Computational Engineering Science, and the other is Comparison of Energy Sources. There is a lot of keyword stuffing happening, and no real content that I can tell. I couldn't say for sure if the PR is fake or not, but the site looks suspicious, and I'd save my $195 if I were you.

I've check the link popularity too, no way they got PR8 the right way. Google shows 130 links, and others search engines only few baclinks, usually it's the other way round... More than suspisious, save your money and your website, having PR8 and not being indexed should be impossible...

I checked to see if it was a banned domain at
http://www.iwebtool.com/google_banned. Initial results based on PR shows that the domain is not banned, but further investigation brough this message up:

The domain name has Backlinks and no Listings. The domain name DOES appear to be banned.

So perhaps they do have high PR, but if they are banned, I'd guess that the PR will be 0 in no time.

Remember, just because the site is PR8, that doesn't mean your site will be the same.

Hi, temi,

My advice is pass on the offer. The site was registered in 2004 for 3 years and expires this September. According to URLTrends, they have a PR7 now and 93 Google incoming links. All this seems impressive at first glance. Here's the report at URLTrends:

If you are going to buy a link, the value in SE ranking will be more if it is a site with a subject related to yours. I didn't take a look at your sites, but after seeing the design at ces2007.org, I believe you can locate a better choice with additional research. Good luck.
