![]() | For the last 5 - 6 months ad blending has been the vogue thing to do with adsense. Blending in your text and background colors of your ads to fit with your site. I like it because it makes the ads look more like part of your site. One thing I am considering doing though, is doing some contrasting ads from time to time to shock people out of their ad blindness. I think especially on things like forums, blended ads end up disappearing into the background. So maybe 1 month out of 4 I might try putting in a very contrasting color scheme to catch people's eye. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Have you tried anything similar? |

![]() | I think we walk a fine line when it comes to showing ads. I have heard some that try and fool visitors into thinking that the ad is part of the content. Having experienced it myself as a visitor it did not make me think highly of the website. I feel that it is best to make the ads match the site so that it is NOT shocking but looks like it was designed into the site and also make sure they know that it is a ad so they don't feel fooled in to clicking an ad. |

| wo0h0o | I think blending ads is the best, as the visitors think its apart of your site. I havent tried any other methods though. |

![]() | I experimented with contrasting ads within the forum and found that the blended results were far better, 8% ctr better than stand out to be precise. However, it really does depend on your visitors and I would recommend trialling it and see what happens you could get completely different results. I just implemented the adsense with different URL colours to blend and stand out in another forum and am awaiting results as this is completely different member profile. ![]() | DogFaceBoy, what forum software do you use? The setup is great. I use SMF and I would like to see about adding an arcade like you have. Does anyone know how to do this?

![]() | One of the Greatest Mistake People do is Making adsense ads look like an ads. Nobody wants to click on a Ads. But if you fit te ads to match your web link colour and background clour, your CTR will increase. I have seen an increase of 58% CTR after doing this. |
