This is a brand new list only for forums. The way it works: You register and set up a text link or customized banner link. You then place a link on your forum that says something like "Vote for my forum" which links to the main page. The more people vote the higher your listing shows in the list.

The more forums that are listed the more fresh traffic everyone gets. The site is getting daily traffic already.

You only have to use the vote link (from your forum) once to activate your link in the list.

I haven't seen anything like this here so far, but if it's an old thing, sorry.

There is also a forum for posting questions and comments.

The sub domain is a good thing in this case. Traffic comes in from the main website and from the forums that are listed in the sub. The more votes your forum gets the higher you rank. The more traffic from all forums the higher the list ranks in the main site. It's a way to share traffic. Your visitors find other forums and you get new traffic from theirs. It all comes down to number of votes.

If it was on it's own domain, traffic would be much harder to get and sub domains do get indexed.

I don't think that it really matters much if it were on it's own domain or not. I have a domian that gets less than 100 unique visitors per month, and a sub-domain on the same site that got nearly 20000 uniques last month, and is looking at more than 50,000 this month. It is a good idea, and I think that any chance you have of gaining more exposure, you should take, beit a domain or a sub-domain.
