ya dude u r totally right content make difference in ranking but dear may i know How u can Write content for a WEB DIRECTORTY???

means if u have site then u can write somewhat diffrent content related to ur product.....BUT how can we for a directory and its a general dir...if U have such idea then plz let it share with me.......hope i get +ve ans. from u

I once posted my site in a demo cms script.
It was a PR6 site and it worked great.
But I think this is considered spam, so I removed it.

Hi Guys,

A newcomer here...
So if i say anything wrong please let me know.

This are general views not for any specific site.
1.Approach relevant sites for links.
2.Try to write unique content in the site so that it should not come in supplement results in google.
3. Look for keywords that are relevant to your site, like keyword suggestion tool in digital point which gives you the all relevant keywords for your site and also will let you know the amount of traffic it gets to that particular keyword.
4. Read forums and also webmaster guidelines which google itself says carefully.
5. Always include sitemap in your site it will help the user to navigate your site properly.
6. Don't stuff the keyword in the description i.e. Meta one.

These are some of the basic things I can tell you hope that helps

People are right here that directories can not have a good content as there is nothing to write there in it.

Following are the things you can do to increase backlinks

submission to free directories,
articles submission,
leave comments on blogs but don't spam,
try posting in forums again no spamming,
join community websites like orkut, myspace, facebook, hi5 etc.,
get some blogs of your own on blogspot or other free blogging services,
make single page websites with unique content on free hosting services
and always put your link in your profile .

All that is free of cost but takes time.

Remember also to make your backlinks look 'natural' by varying the anchor text that you use. Don't use the same anchor text over and over.
