![]() | Maybe a very stupid question this one. When using the iWebtool backlink checker for instance, I get more links reported if I do not prefix my domain with 'www.' Also get different results on some other iWebtools. Any answers? |

![]() | It is because some of your backlinks use the www. prefixed there, and some do not use www. it mainly depends on how people link to your website

![]() ![]() | www.domain.com and domain.com are considered two different sites. Technically www.domain.com is a subdomain. use a 301 redirect for seo purposes.

![]() ![]() | use a 301 redirect and it wont matter what people use to link to you.

![]() | If you type in yourdomain.com it shows all back links. That means all with www and those without. It is a good way to see all your backlinks. If you type in www.yourdomain.com it will only show you the ones with www and leave the rest off. Hope this helps a little. |
