I don't know. For me, having paypal attracts more customers since paypal is safe and secured. And its also known globally.

Using Paypal is vastly superior, no fuss, and very cheap by comparison to a bankers draft in a foreign currency.

In our little vacation rental cottage in Scotland we do not want to offer a credit card facility, people send us cheques. But for US or European guests Paypal is great compared to using a bank.

Way to go, boys and girls.

A little point. don't leave much money in your Paypal credit because in the event of a dispute it may be frozen for months even though you are the victim and not the perp.

Paypal is very good but very bad

The good being you can accept payment from credit/debit cards etc, but the thing that frustrates me is the charges when people pay by echeque as it takes twice as long and you still get charged for it, also the length of time it takes to clear to your account - have been waiting for over 7 working days for a payment to clear before, just too long when this is your cashflow for your small business.

On a plus side, they have helped me get my money back from shady companies.

I ordered a full website design from a company about 2 years ago, they designed my homepage, but no contact after that, and checking further into it, found it was one of these free templates from another site. Paypal actually returned my money in full, which was good or I wouldn't be where I am as I'd have lost most of the money I was using to start the business.

Cool Re: Buyers wary of PayPal?

Hi,I've been with paypal for over 5 years now .
They are great ,they are secure ,safe and reliable.
Convince your customers about Paypal being very secure, safe and reliable.
I use Paypal connected to my ebay account and most of the people I deal with on Ebay have Paypal and rely on its strength and speed of instant transactions.
With Paypal you know you'll recieve your money instantly.
Paypal insure your losses, they fight hard to get your money back if theres any shonky deals done with ebay or any shonky customers.

Mark.....

I've setup Paypal on my site to receive text ad sales, and so far I've had great
success with Paypal!

Depending on what you're selling, I would say the vast majority of buyers on the internet are already well aware of what paypal is and why it is beneficial. I don't think they are really turned off by it unless they don't have an account there and do not want to hassle with the setup process, etc.
