Does anyone know ,if you add you link to sites that a a low or 0 pr, whether your own pr will decrease?

If it's real PR is zero it wont effect your PR. But it is unlikely that it's real PR will be zero, and if it is it wont be zero for very long.

If you are talking about toolbar PR then don't worry about it. Toolbar PR is comopletely useless.

It will not decrease your PR, but you need a lot lower or PR0 pages to increase your own PR.

Hi there,

If you are looking at increasing your own PR, get links from quality sites which already have a higher PR.

But no PR0 websites don't bring your PR down, otherwise directories would suffer big time .

PR0 will not make a difference to your PR unless you have loads of PR0 linking to you, but it will not lower your website as much

I heard that just 1 link from a PR10 webpage and if it's the only link in that page will increase your PR to 8., but you need around 350,000 links from PR3 to get the same result. So i'm just gessing that you actually need a few hundred thousand or a couple of million PR0 pages to get a higher PR... could this be true?

I think having a handful .gov and .edu backlinks (even low PR) is more worth than having 100 normal backlinks with same PR.

All links to your site will increase your PR.
A link from a page with high PR does increase PR more, than a link from a page with low PR.

The idea behind PR is that a page A is said to vote for a page B, if page A links to page B. PR is a way of measuring the voting. If a page A links to 10 different pages, then the vote of page A is divided into 10 votes each with one 10th of the weight of the total vote of page A. For this reason, a link from a page with a high rank doesn't count too much if there are many links from that page.

All indexed one way links are seen as a positive vote for your website by search engines, even a PR0 link. I think that the best way is to have as much one way links as possible and have 1 or more quality PR7-PR8 link for best results.
