Google's copyright tags

Has anyone seen this? http://www.google.com/Top the copyright tag at the bottom is 2 years out of date.

http://www.google.com/about.html, is year out of date. Looks like google's a bit slow:p

That's the correct way to do it; you put the (c) year there when it was last edited or updated signifigantly.

I read something a while back that was a very good explanation as to the format and even the hows and whys of the year in the copyright notice. I have been looking for the last ten minutes and can not find the link.

If anyone knows of where I can find that information, I would appreciate it.
