Sudden drop in indexed pages

This is strange thing that happened with me yesterday. My site is having around 300+ pages and all were indexed in Google till some time back. Yesterday I noticed that there are only 6 pages now remaining in the Google index. The ranking for keywords haven't changed. The listing are still showing the URLs from my site those are not currently in the site: mysite. com. Is there anything for me to worry?

Try again after sometime (a day or two). If still see the same results than there are something to be worry about else it might be a small Google Index update.

One of my sites dropped from 144 to 12, and stayed there for awhile, then a few days ago, it jumped back up to 67. I'd say not to worry about it as long as the most important pages(index page) is still being indexed.

I have the same problem, though i not really worry about it. I don't use any blackhat thing so i think the index will clarify soon.

same problem for me. I noticed a huge dropdown of my traffic from Google...since I started translating my site in English

As there are much lesser pages in English then in Dutch, and Google seems to prefer English above another language, the weight of my site is lower in the SERP's.

One more proof that you have to build on other ways to generate traffic. You can't rely on Google alone...

I had the same problem, had 29,300 listings and it fell to 23,700 in one day over the next week it did not climb and hit a low of 21,600.
Many pages on my site have over 100 links per page I added nofollow to a lot of the unimportant ones and then listing suddenly bounced back to 34,200. Today Google list over 80,000 although still less then 10% of the site because the googlebot doesn't visit fast to find them all.

Yeah don't worry about it but you can fix the problem quicker by building up backlinks to all of the sub-pages of your website!

My website jump from page 20 to page 8, and then page 7, dropped from page 7 to page 10 yesterday. My domain is almost 2 years, but the content is just 3 month, so I think this is just google dance.
