Default Advertisement Myspace

Am I allowed to advertise my websites on other peoples Myspace? For example, when I make a post, can I post my website link also? Am I also allowed to advertise it on bulletins and so on. Thank you very much for your time.

Yes assuming they don't delete you comment.

This wouldn't count as a backlinks though, since the pages are dynamic and use sessions.

Yea technically, but most people will just delete your comment since you're basically spamming. Atleast leave some sort of comment and then link yoru site at the bottom if that's what you want to do.

Heh, I had a similar situation when somebody posted an ad to their site when they commented on one of my blog entries.

Lol, he's like 13 or something, and when I deleted his comment but kept the legit. content, he threatened to sue ... LOL.

I wouldn't bother with MySpace anyway

I'm also curious why he threatened you. What happened afterwards?

Advertising is against the MySpace TOS, just thought I would point that out. They ban accounts accordingly.

I don't believe so, read the TOS for yourself.

Quote from TOS:
Quote:
Commercial advertisements, affiliate links, and other forms of solicitation may be removed from member profiles without notice and may result in termination of membership privileges. Appropriate legal action will be taken by MySpace.com for any illegal or unauthorized use of the Website.

See the TOS here: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/misc/terms.html

So is there any way while still staying ahead of the MySpace police to use the system to help promote your site? Even if it means providing some content to do so? I have been wondering about this for a while, and just want to know if a further investigation is warranted.

From what DFB is saying, it is not, and any effort is likely to be squashed or hold little effect.
