 |  Advice needed on SEO for blogs Hi everyone, I'm new here. I am participating in a SEO contest with blogs. Although so far I have learned that you can't rely on any rules or generalizations with Google, I would appreciate it if you can give me some advice on optimizing blogs.

 | Re: Advise needed on SEO for blogs Add fresh unique content daily. Advertise, advertise, and then when your done, advertise some more. Get links where ever you can, directories, other blogs, create new sites on free hosting accounts and advertise them too, and place your blogs link on each of the pages of all of your free sites. |

| Re: Advise needed on SEO for blogs SEo it like you SEO any other site. Write content that looks interesting and get backlinks. I wouldn't suggest getting free hosting and putting a lonk on them sites though. If google see 10 brand new sites pop up and all of them are, for some reason, linking to you it will more than likely throw up flags and actually hurt your ranking. It's a classic spam tactic and google will spot it.

But I must say that although my entry blogs are full of original and updated content I frequently notice that blogs (or sites) with almost no content except than the official contest rules, haven't been updated for months, 0 backlinks seen in a Google querie and PR 0 are among the top 10 in Google SERPs or even # 1. What does these blogs have that Google favors and I can't see???
