Hi there,

What SEO technique would you say is the most important? Do you use SEO?

The reason why I ask this is because I try to use all aspects of SEO although I know people that abandon certain practices - and can still reach same levels sometimes as the more avid SEO users. Would you say this depends on the search engine...I would think so.

And for the second question...I know some sites which appear to have absolutely no SEO practice, although the still reign high in the SERP's. Would you say this is luck?

I just would like to know your ways and means of SEO, and if you even use it.

Well, SEO isn't necessary for good rankings. As I'm sure you've heard, content is king, and if you offer good content, the traffic will eventually make their way to you. That's fine, that's incredible if it's possible, but unfortunately many of us don't have the time or the patience to wait around and let our content shine through. For those of us, we use SEO techniques to improve our position in the SERP's.

As far as the most important technique goes, I'd have to say link building as far as SEO goes. But really, there isn't much else, besides optimizing your site for the SE's.

Backlinks are a big factor, But SEO is more about the big picture than thinking about what is more important. Backlinks are no good without quality content and having quality content is useless if you have no links pointing to it.

Think of SEO as an art, Not a science.,

I think submitting to directory, blogs, forums, article directories, etc, are the most important techniques.

But the key factor is that you shall have useful content which will make people bookmark your site and tell others about your site.

Just make sure that all of your on-page stuff is O.K. and build up anchor text links.
