Software to check downloads

Hi

I noticed a huge bandwidth increase from files downloaded at my site. It changed from 1-2 gigs a day to 20 gigs a day, how can i monitor the files that are being downloaded or how can i hide the url the file is coming from. I think people are giving out the url's to all my files so they can download it for free.

I need to put this to a stop, Please can anyone help

Perhaps put a script in place that produces a dynamic url that can only be accessed once. Then limit the amount of times a person can re-download that particular file. Force people to sign in before gaining access to the file, and log IP address, browser type, and operating system. And limit the number of times an account can access the file.

I had that same problem until I installed a digital delivery system on my site that will automaticaly email a cloaked link when a payment is completed. There are several out there on the web and they are relatively inexpensive I think I paid $60 and it was worth every penny.
