![]() | Hi ..To be frank I am fed up with DMOZ. I have been submitting with great care for 4 Months. No use. The appropriate Category does not have editors. I went 3 levels up and No editors still. DMOZ has become useless. Its unfortuante that GOOGLE still picks only from DMOZ to build its directory. Is there anyway to MAKE DMOZ wake up and add URLs?????? ![]() |

![]() | DMOZ is down, not accepting new submissions for 2 months I think... I've heard sometimes it takes up to 1 year for you to get listed there... I submited some URL's a long time ago, and forgot about it... Then, after a long time, I noticed I had been listed :-)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think it depends on how busy that category is. I'm not sure though. |

![]() | DMOZ is hopeless (and that's saying it nicely) in my opinion.

![]() | You should never base yourselves in only 1 source.. Never.. DMOZ is a free service, they never charged for it.. []s

It's not much of a service, and it's a good thing they don't charge for it - I would never pay them a dime. No acknowledgment of submission, no communication whatsoever, no action taken on a submission, no nothing. Like telling a black hole you'd like to be listed. Maybe some categories are better, but mine sure aren't.

![]() | Now that we all agree that DMOZ is down and out, is there a way to TELL GOOGLE to build its directory directly! Rather than base it on the unreliable DMOZ! How do we inform Google Strongly to review their relationship with Google? We need a way to enter Google Directory. Google should provide an Alternate route. ![]() |

![]() | I've been two years, and still nothing, on a well-developed site. No reason for it not to have been accepted.

![]() | DMOZ only has so many editors, but they get so many submissions and they are all volunteers. It takes along time to review site and decide whether to accept them or not. It's still the biggest directory and Google gets it directory results from them for free, why would they spend thousands maybe even millions on setting up a directory and hiring people to run it when they have a fine system now. If you want site to be added faster then sign up to be an editor yourself. dmhcollectibles, There is allot of activity in DMOZ, Maybe just ot in your category. But if the editors all have to communicate shit to the websites owners it just means there wasting time on that when they could be using the time to review more websites, which it what your whinging about in your other posts. If you don't like DMOZ then don't use it its your choice.
