Question Starting a Forum

hi everyone

i want to start a hip hop forum, should i add it to my illbeatz website (in signature) or should i get a seperate domain name and start fresh forum?

Add it to the illbeatz website if the theme of the forum has something in common with the website. In your case, I think it does, so I would make it part of illbeatz.com. Do you know what forum script you are going to use? I would suggest SMF 1.09 if you haven't already decided otherwise.

When I added a forum to my website I made it a subdomain, I don't know if that is better or worst, just another option.

Well, its really up to you but I suggest that you use your existing domain and add a subdomain for your forum...its easier to manage (at least for me).

A forum could add some good content and SE traffic. I would not recommend SMF if you want SE traffic though.

I think you can use a subdomain if u can still spare some bandwidth.

There's practically no difference in terms of seo or site promotion, your subdomain will be treated by Google as a separate domain, the only different thing is managing your site, but if you're using Cpanel , a subdomain won't be a problem.
