A lil Warning: Paid Directories!

I have paid for over 200 directory listings and now after some months some webmasters are removing my link for no reason or go 404. Soon I'm going to generate a list which directories provide such "service".

Also the dir industry is getting spammy and greedy.

Some generate 5 directories, ask $5-$25 for listing, after receiving some revenue they dump those dirs and move on.

In conclusions I would like to say that don't buy links from 0PR, with no BWL's or without a cache. I did because I though that I gave them a change to develop. Be aware.

That would be a good list. A black list of sorts. I never pay for directory submissions, I only do the free ones. There are free directories that range from PR0 up to PR7 or more. I usually only concentrate on getting links on a PR3 or better directory, because there are plenty of them out there.

I only go for the free ones too for the same basic reason

Yes Jacobs you are right. Now days it has become a business to make a little money and then move on. But we as submitters should be more careful to what and where we are submitting, as we have a lots of free directories available.
But as you wanted them to have a change and develop (they will develop but some other directories to fool again

).

Yes, but what is the free directory purpose actually? To get some traffic and maybe some sponsored listings, = $, after a while they empty their regular (free) listings and try again, so the free directory campaign isn't that great either.

I think is a great idea since for those of us that do sale really ad space is killing one part of our business........I would like to get the list or a link to it so I can posted on my website so my customers and visitor know about it.....
