Hi,

I have been steadily working on my site and the page rank as well as prediceted page rank have moved up slowly but steadily. Last week we were projected for a 4.4 page rank. Rather quickly our page rank started dropping! all the way down to the actual 3.... When I check my backlinks in the iwebtool predictor......along with lower predicted page rank, about 150 backlinks seem to be "missing in action." For weeks now they had been steadily growing up to 397 and now the predictor says about 250. Can somone please explain how to change this horrible trend and why it happened! We have had to copy paste some new pages onto the site. The original web developer wanted $250. for per change for ANY and every change she made to our site for updating. The new guy that is working with me has to copy paste new additions onto our site with the same layout and new verbiage. Are the "new pages" seen by google as a negative? Thanks so much for your input.

Hi !
First of all..don't panic regarding the pagerank predictor tool, as it say it just predict the PageRank, nobody knows what Google will show at next PageRank update.
Having many backlinks doesn't means that your website PageRank will increase.
Personally i have one website which went from PR 0 to PR 4 with just one inbound link from a related website with only PR 4.
I also tested and i'm sure that having hundreds of links obtained by link exchange with poor websites, having resource pages with no cache in google,
means nothing for google but they show in yahoo, and msn.
In my opinion, all you have to do is to add quality content to your website, original content, have no duplicate pages, a few quality inbound links, exchange links (partner) with relevant website, which is related to yours, complementary, choose your parters based on traffic data, not on PageRank, try to increase the number of partner links naturally 1-2 a week.

I'm not sure if i get it right ..where did you copy paste the new pages ?

Thanks so much Val! I very much appreciate your input. I just checked page rank and it is back up to a four today. The phone is suddenly ringing with very quality prospects! I will heed your word and continue adding quality content. My google backlinks are of good quality I believe more so than my msn and yahoo backlinks. I made the mistake of using GoDaddys trafficblazer tool and asking for links. What I didn't know probably hurt me! All the links I personally worked to get are all related to my business. Have you heard of a british company called SILKTIDE.com? They have a great tool to assess websites much like iwebtool. It is called Sitescore. It wowed me with the information they gleaned from my site in less than one minute.

Guys the Prediction tool doesnt work and means nothing , even if it shows ur rank at 5 or 8 you can always end up getting to 3 even if ur current rank is 4 , its just a tool and doesnt control or cannot predict future ranks 100% maybe 10% only. So dont rely on it its a toy .

That is very true, I have been checking the PR predictor tool almost religiously for the past 6 months and it is not always on the money
