Well, the overall appearance isn't that pleasing to my eye... the logo isn't very professional either.... (you want a professional design to get an idea? see www.distriba.com - pretty dang sweet)

Well i think what makes is unique is the fact it does the following.
swap,buy,sell and wish all on one site which you dont see much of.
Also some of the catagories are quite good, like the fact that people can exchange diy jobs.
If there a bit short on cash for paying someone, they can offer for example plumbing and some one might want some building done so the exchange jobs.

I like your site. In a previous life, I too was a home remodeler, and think that your site is quite unique. But then again, I haven't really shopped around that much. I like the idea of exchanging DIY jobs, great idea. I like your colors, and the navigation is easy to follow. A plus about your site that I can't say about the site that chulium referred....Your site doesn't have any background music, a definate plus.

The graphics are clean and attractive. I also like the idea of swapping any unused items, that could be handy, I have(had) several thousand dollars worth of surplus from my life as a contractor, and that service would certainly be useful.

Do some SEO on your site, get the word out there. Place some of your own items on your swap lists to get the ball rollin'. If you don't have much, open up the phone book and call all the contractors in your area, tell them that you are offering a free service and explain to them what it is. I'm guessing you will get some contractors willing to allow you to list their unwanted items, and that would help to get things moving.

Also, get some articles written, or find some that you can legally use on the internet that pertain to DIY and the construction genre in general. I think you have a great site there, and with a lot of work, it'll be a successful one. Good luck to you.

So in your opinion you have to have a flash header to look professional?

I think the look is good, the idea is fresh. I don't like the category navigation on the left side. Break it/split it/ re-arrange it/move it, just make it look better in some way.

I like this site concept. Getting traffic is a major key, so contact some advertisers and get them on your site. Offer site exchanges and get on a few more forums, to get site traffic. ADVERTISE ADVERTISE ADVERTISE.... best of luck to you

a nice site but i had errors about sessions on your page. try starting the session on the top of your source code.
an advice: if you make the outer background black the visitors wont see that errors when there are.

Hi again , ok i was watching the old program swapshopz which was very popular here in the uk in the late 70s and early 80s ,so i thought i would give it a try with the same colour scheme as the tv program, nice an bright , what do think?
