Default Anyone has his own site running at home?

Anyone of you guys have a website running at home? (AND GETTING PROFIT FROM Advertising) even if it's 150.00 a month.

Also, if you get at least 750 views per day.

I really want to put a site (entertainment site, or something that becomes popular). Still have no idea what to do, but I would like to have ideas, or experiences.

Could anyone tell me how you (who started from the very basic) did it?

How did you build the site? (hired a designer? by yourself)?
own webhosting? or got a private one?
how did you make it popular?
what's the content, etc?

(if possible) aprox. how much you're making from ads on your site (since this is the main purpose).

I just started doing freelance work for people after reading a couple of books. Then I started launching sites with friends, which is nice.
