Default Promote Through AutoSurf: Good? / Bad?

Hi

A few months back I tried to make a little money in the Auto Surf industry, as a surf investor. At first I did ok, but as you might expect I ended up losing my profit.
My question is, does anyone think that just having your site on an autosurf sites rotation, & not actually investing, is one way to promote a small business. Or is it best to steer clear of these ponzi type programs altogether.

Thanks

IMO, it is best to steer clear of them completely. They don't offer targeted traffic, if fact they don't even offer non-targeted traffic, they have other webmasters click onto your website to boost your traffic. But there is no benefit to doing that. Think about it this way:

You own a grocery store. You sign up with a service that takes local business owners and has them walk through your front door several times per day. In return, you are asked to walk through their front door several times per day. They are no more interested in your products than you are in theirs. So it only increases the amount of time a person walks through your door, not the business that walks through your door. It's the exact same thing with autosurf programs. They are simply just useless.

I did this kind of thing once...

The auto surf ones were my favorite, because I didn't even have to look at the sites, I do what it is I was planning to do anyway in the FireFox browser, and I open a browser or two in IE that keeps loading those pages, I get the credit, but I don't have to look at alla those pages, or click or do anything.

Every 15 minutes or so, it parks on the guys page that must actually pay to be the last page in the rotation, cuz it's always the same page, so I hit refresh, and get back to what i was doing, while another 15 - 20 minutes worth of pages open themselves up in my browser...

About the only thing this is good for is fluffing your traffic stats.

I think auto surf websites don't increase sales or hits. But they can be used to get page views up. Then you might make a little more money to spend on PPC.

I agree with jumpen's points but I have actually found some good info on traffic swarm but it's quite rare. Sometimes I try to look at the websites maybe because I think that by doing that I will somehow psychicly influence other ppl to do the same .

It can definitely give you a boost with your alexa rank which can help if you are selling text links. Another way it can help is if you are advertising other traffic programs since this is what ppl in these programs are interested in.

If you use it, make sure your landing page has no adsense on it. Make another landing page without the adsense then if they click on a link on your site, it will look like they came directly from one of your internal pages to instead of from a traffic program.

Hi there,

AutoSurf is bad. Hits are nothing, you want repeated targeted traffic, getting hits does nothing really but waste bandwidth, why pay an AutoSurf network when you could get real hits trough a PPC program like AdWords.

I went on one of these programs ages ago, and all it simply did was leave the browser open and refresh thousands of time while I was asleep, it did nothing form me but waste about 100 MB bandwidth. Although that was years ago and I was stupid then .

Regards,
Kieran Taylor.

autosurf cannot do something good to your site, if you have adsense on your site and it is being rotated at autosurf google will ban you on their adsense program. Hits are fake.

Autosurfs are of no use, probably you could use the google Adwords with the 50 credit that they give for new accounts and go from there

Thumbs down Re: Promote Through AutoSurf: Good? / Bad?

AutoSurfs are a bad idea and they serve to cancel your Adsense account.

Stay away, all they do is eat up bandwidth....

Cheers.
