| Re: Suggestion: rid off PM's characters limitation If a user requests information, and they truly want it, then explain to them that there are limitations on the amount of information that you can send through the PM system, and that you would prefer to send them the information through email. I agree that there are ways around the limitations, and that it is possible to SPAM with very little text, but unfortunately there isn't much that can be done about that. However, limiting the length of a message can help to slow down SPAM, because alot of SPAM messages are extremely long. Have you seen the mobile phone SPAM's? Those are the most common type of SPAM around here, and contain a huge amount of text. Without the limitations in place, those SPAMs could very easily find their way to our PM box's. |
