I registered some .mobi domain names:

joys.mobi
cooling.mobi
wik.mobi
zom.mobi
kav.mobi
sofun.mobi
cgame.mobi

They are on sale now.
Anyone could help to evaluate them? Thanks in advance.

That's what they're meant for, but that doesn't confine them to one thing. Right now at namecheap they are 20 bucks. You can do some cool stuff with mobi, kind of like del.icio.us!

Oh yes, htmlguy is right. Don't misunderstand me, I should of said, this is there intended purpose but people could brand them definatly.

It's meant for cell phones & PDA's - usually numbers are easy to access

And very short domains. Anything longer than 5 characters IMO is worthless (unless it's a common number)

im building a mobile=mobi site at the moment,,

And, mobi domains have risen over 1000% in price this month, a .mobi name was $1.99.
so at a guess start at $50-1000 and see what happens,, the names have started to run out allready,,

its really, really hard to get a mobi site up to mobile w3 standard though, there are over 20 criteria to meet, and validation is just one,
one thing they want is no, http://www.. just the name and mobi.. hence the xhtml, but try and submit your site to "any" search engine,, and they all want "http://www"
(very annoying)

There is no general "accross the board" rule of code yet, either,, some say xhtml strict, xhtmlmp, xml, etc,

im building to suit texas instrument powered phones. Nokia, etc,,

The real market is tiny at the moment. But It will grow,, they (phone Companys and the telecomunication industry) are screaming out for new content to put on there new toy, so if your a good developer, and it needs to be really good, Build some stinking cool content,, and make zillions, or just a few billion? lol
