People have different needs and understandings, even top hosting companies have bad reviews. I would say stay.

Usually such big hosting providers start making troubles when your site becomes really popular.
F.e. GoDaddy has a really low limit for simultaneous DB connections.

I use HostGator, and here's my opinion...

I can try several website idea's and not lose much if they fail, due to the fact that I get unlimited domain name hosting...

That is why I am "Host Gator Loyal" if you will.

My sites have only ever been down once .. and only for a few minutes.. so that's a deffinate plus for me

on the down side.. they can be a bit on the unprofessional side...

I often get cranky, rude, and unprofessional reps, i get nice and super helpful ones too, we just tend to talk about the 'ickyness' more.

When I first signed up, I paid them $10 to move my sites for me, I still have no idea how to move a database. There were a few, thankfully not very important files lost during that move. (The files that make a pretty lil window like this one, so you can build a site without actually knowing any html.. php.. css.. etc ) hehe .. but it WAS $10, hell you get what you pay for right

I signed up with Host Gator because they told me that back ups are free, and I was having an IPB hacking problem.. well theyre not free, they cost $15 but.. to me, close enough, my last host wanted $150.

So it really depends on what you're looking for... for as many sites as I have $15 a month, and a little attitude from support isn't half bad.

Great review there by LadyH (Should consider making a host review website ). As for scriptleader, i'd recommend you stay, judging by LadyH's comment, it doesn't seem like a bad host. However, when you do start getting problems due to popularity, just get yourself a dedicated server.

I have not heard to many bad reviews about HostGator. I think there a little over prices and they do oversell (Like GoDaddy) a tad.

To keep this netural as possible i best mention i do own my own Web Host (Soon to be Data Center). My Best advice is do your research...some small companys are quite good but are overselling and/or might close down within a few months.

If your currently having no problems Stay with Host Gator if not, Move to me!

I the truth do not know that they represent with themselves, I did not deal with them. Some clients consider that they well serve and have a reliable hosting, but some people dare to replace the company.

HostGator is not a bad company at all. nor it is a reseller or affiliated with any big companies. We gave it a 5 out 5!
