Smile What do you look for in a paid directory?

Hey everyone, for those who pay for directory submissions; what do you look for?

For example: is it price, SEO (static links), traffic exposure, quality of links, etc.??

I usually look at the stats first, number of links, PR, etc. I have only submitted to one paid directory so far.

The iWebTOOL Directory. I was happy with the price and thought it was a good deal.

I've never used paid directory option. I usually buy PR links instead of paid directory listings.

I have rarely brought directory submissions, and not convinced that they were all good ones, but they were all cheap. I guess it depends a little on how much return you expect for you money. My site has nothing really to sell, so it would not be worth while forking out the cash. But you can still get to the top of the SERP without doing so.

I paid for few diretories. I look on PR of page where my site is listed (not on PR of directory root page), how deep is it and on Alexa.
Sufi said "I've never used paid directory option. I usually buy PR links instead of paid directory listings", but i dont agree - directory listing is permanent while paid link isn't.

I submit to a few paid directories. I look at pagerank; depending on the price I also look at how long have the directory be around, who else is listed there, traffic, and i'm also chasing alivedirectory.com

I notice their on every directory that I submit too. Thats probably why they have so many incoming links. I figure I need to do more static site wide advertising of my directory
