How to create the right group?

Hi

I know that group can be sometimes as a good source of advertising.

But how? and what kind of group should I create, if my site is www.news2.ca

Im not sure what you mean by "group". Perhaps you could elaborate a little.

What you are referring to is the Usenet, or newsgroups, which was more important in the 90's when the Internet was younger. There are many thousands of groups, on all subjects. If you start your own group mainly for the purpose of advertising, I don't think anyone will ever read it, but others will spam it. I also think that some of the craziest characters, and alot of crooks, are to be found on the newsgroups, I don't think it is a safe source of customers.

Newsgroups can be helpful for specific information, it's kind of like a blog.

Like max said though, if you use it mainly for advertising, it wouldn't be very effective.

I go to a newsgroup to offer construction and remodeling advice or to answer questions from other users from time to time, and for that sort of thing, newsgroups are handy.

If you want to use a newsgroup for advertising, I'd say the best thing to do would be to update it often with good information, and keep advertising to a minimum.
