Default 'and' or 'the' an elliminated word?

Google removes the word 'and' and possibly 'the'

Is it sometimes or all the time? How does it work?

Default Re: 'and' or 'the' an elliminated word?

Hi there,

It does this all the time unless you use quotations for direct quotes. For example in a usual search you would search for;

Quote:
Shaun of the Dead

Although Google will see it as this

Quote:
Shaun of the Dead

...and the chances of Google finding it would be pretty high as it will be a highly used range of keywords.

Although in this example let's say you couldn't find it, you would then search for;

Quote:
"Shaun of the Dead"

...and then Google would search for the exact text phrase that you entered, this is probably the only time that you would search using linking words.

The reason why Google remove these is to optomize your search. Don't worry about it.

Regards,
Kieran Taylor.
